Bhul Chuk Maaf!

The movie that is getting all the hate for all the wrong reasons...

Before watching Bhul Chuk Maaf I was blessed to receive a candid review from a neighbor of mine, in her own words "You will like the movie if you are an old person, and not if you are a young one."

Bhul Chuk Maaf is receiving all the criticism in relation to its bad portrayal of time-loop dilemma, and whether Raj Kumar Rao's character is even worthy of his love or not.

But let me make this clear this is not a Hollywood Sci-Fi movie, this is classic Indian story portrayed by all the right actors. So the time-loop dilemma takes a back seat on this one, it is not the crux of the story like it usually is in a typical foreign sci-fi movies.

The story quite rightly reminded me of stories of Tenali Raman, Akbar Birbal, Panchtantra etc. that is why I listed this in Indian classic.

The connection of time stopped while the lead character learns his duty to the epic Mahabharata is amazing. Portrayal of Gods, Sadhus is exactly how it should be done in stories, nothing far-fetched.

Coming to the worthiness of lead character. Yes he has bad habits, but still he is good at heart and true in love as shown in two light scenes. Again, the essence of classic Indian stories.

So, while every one might say it is not a good movie.

I say, you are measuring it using a very wrong scale!
