How? Why? I dont know.
I don't know why girls have to survive so much.
Right from birth they are burdened with tasks that they have to do.
Naturally for periods. No option.
Ear piercing. At least that could have been optional. But no!
Sitting at a jewelry, I saw across the road there was a piercing shop. Uncle was trying to pierce the ear of a little girl. Her parents held her tight. She was crying, shrieking. Her brother (he was little too) sat sad, feeling helpless, unable to comprehend what was happening, why it was happening. On the verge of crying, he tried to help his sister, but his family restrained him too.
It is common.
Everybody does it.
WE HAD DONE PIERCING TOO!
It is for your own benefit. Later on, it will hurt even more if we do not do it now.
I scavenged the Internet to find at least some logical reason for body piercing.
Aside from the little boy, the girl another thing to notice in the scene is their family. They were woman too. Which means at some point in their own life they had gone through same thing. They all were crying & shrieking like that little girl. Their brother too might have tried to help them, but their families would have restrained them too.
Nothing changed!
Why? What is this level of conditioning where we forget our own pain and allow the same to be inflicted on the new ones?
Then it got me thinking, maybe this is the society's way of telling you, that IT OWNS YOU!
Another thing to take away from this is that, after her (little girl's) piercing was done for, she should be thankful to the society too because what they did was best for her. Otherwise, she would not be able to wear the jewelry she did not want anyways.
So, to sum it up. Society pierced her ear so that she could wear the jewelry that society wants her to wear. With time she will be conditioned and do the same with her daughter.
Why? Don't Know...
